THE OLD FOLKS!!

I was asked to list 5 positive physical things about myself . Last night as I laid in bed thinking about how the 5 positive physical things I could list were mostly about my face, and how hard it was for me to think of positive physical things about me! I started to think about my body and what I didn't like about the rest of me. As I was doing so, I realized that I was being very ungrateful for what I had. My legs are fat. But they support me and I can walk! What a blessing. My Mother didn't have this blessing for the last 15 years of her life! My stomach hangs and is fat! But it works right and I can eat and enjoy food because it does. A blessing that Terri Holden and Donna Funk don't have. My arms sag and are fat. But I bet any one to the many soldiers who have lost an arm serving our country would gladly take a fat saggy arm. My hands are old and wrinkled. but all my fingers work and I can write, crochet, crosstich and play with my grand kids. I have many hours of enjoyment because these old hands work. My hair is gray. But I know of cancer victims who would gladly take my gray hair just to have hair. There are so many blessings that I have with My body just the way it is! I want to learn to love it now, and make it healthier for the future. Losing weight, if it happens, will be a great side effect. But I will be concentrating on taking better care of this wonderful blessing called ME! I hope and pray that each of us will come to know what a blessing our bodies are, especially me.

I'm so grateful you shared your thoughts, it makes me more appreciative of what the Lord has blessed me with. Thank you for sharing and discovering how beautiful and blessed your body truly is. I love ya!

I have always thought that you and Becky have great hair. What matters is your heart and you sure have a big one! It is easy to find all the things wrong with ourselves huh? Then the Lord helps us see how good we have it. I catch myself being negative about my body too and I know that rubs off on the kids. How did you instill in Mike that positive self body image, because he just knows he is the sexiest man alive.

I love this post. Funny to read because you have such a bad image of yourself when the rest of us only see beauty. The Lord made your body and you need not put down one of his most wonderful creations. Makes me remember that the body is something we all need to take care of and remember that Lord made this creation for us.
